Long a favorite of C's, but not a childhood memory, are the Counting Songs on Sesame Street. Absolutely bonkers, trippy, surreal, original, creative and a whole lot of fun packed into a minute. They strike me as a good example of hippie ethos that managed to worm its way into the mainstream. Also, a bit subversive-look at the images, story-telling, messaging-definitely freaked out some Conservatives because...it's broadcasted to the children! OMG!
