A TALE OF TWO TWATTS

The Orkneys and Shetland Islands were both part of the Norse Empire. The word "twatt" in old Norse means "a small parcel of land".

This just provides a wellspring of jokes: "You're a twat", barked a co-worker. "Why yes, I am. Are you? Orkney or Shetland?" she sweetly replied.

  1. Wonder what the etymology of the rude word is.
