| Stations of the Cross (Veronica Wipes The Face of Jesus) 2022 |
The artist was visiting Galang Island, Indonesia, where Vietnamese refugees fleeing their country were housed after the fall of Saigon in 1975. Her parents were there before making it to the US where she was born in 1984. She came upon a camp where there were 14 statues of Jesus representing the Stations of the Cross. The experience inspired a series of 14 works.
