ST. PADDY'S DAY GROANER

It was 72 degrees today. The crocus, which only had a handful of blooms the day before exploded into dozens. Forsythia was in bloom on campus.

Hanging out on the couch with Molls waiting for supper, we had the slider open. I realized I was hearing a wide range of bird calls and how much I had missed them. In winter, we're tucked in the house so anything we hear-goose, crow, blue jay-are muted. Now, the volume has been turned up!

Rolla the squirrel, was out and coming on the deck looking for peanuts. We weren't sure if it was her so C began chanting "Rolla, Rolla show us your teats!". A t-shirt tagline if there ever was one. Sure enough, she prairie-dogged and her identity was confirmed.

Since it was so warm, I decided to make Spring salads rather than something rib sticking and stogey which is usually the case when it's in the 30's. My nod to the holiday was making Irish soda bread, which pleased and delighted C who pronounced it "sodalicious". See what happens when you live with an EM (English Major)? LOL
