Todd hiding in shame

The tom turkey has been with us for three days now. Of course, we've named him-Todd-in reference to Todd Rundgren's vilified song "We got to find you a woman". Our feeling was that his behavior was unusual so I researched the cause of male turkeys being alone. According to one source, if a guy turkey fails to find a gal turkey during mating season (which just ended) they are often ostracized by dominant males. Poor Todd, cancelled. Or, as C noted, perhaps an Incel. Eventually, once the season of ardor has passed, the loser is allowed back into the fold. Our other thought was that Todd was ill-he seemed ungainly on his feet and was doing odd flapping motions with his wings and tail. At least, upon researching, it probably avian flu, which is making the rounds again. So who knows what is up with this guy?
