Yesterday morning, we had an uncommon weather event: freezing fog. Indigenous people called this Pogonip and warned that inhalation of the icy air could cause lung damage. I began noticing that the tops of trees along I-496 were frosted, while in other areas, the frosting went all the way to the ground. Other places were untouched. The event continued until nearly noon when the temps rose above freezing and all the frosting melted.
